Look at that painting it looks really old, perhaps it's of early Sinningia cultivars. Was there really Sinningia with fantasy?
PS: I had a dream with Sinningia with almost the same color of the blossom like the left one but with more petals on one row. :ugeek:

Nice painting. I don't know if there's any gloxinia available at all here in Europe.
I managed to get a gloxinia perrenis rhizome, I hope it will be beautiful this year :-)

Botan, I hope you have success with the seeds. Please post some pictures, when the first seedlings are coming out from those seeds :-)

Thank you, I would like to have some luck. :D The growing tips on the latest gesneriad seeds that I've sowed stating that they could germinate in 2-3 months or they just can wait till spring, for the first one and for the second was something like that: well stratification is necessary, they will germinate really slow but wait to see what is slow after they germinate... eventually.

Monday I fly to Parma, Italy. Did you know that they have a violet exhibition there? It's a very famous one.
Okay, I'm going because of my job, but I hope I will have some time to look around.

Sounds interesting, I would like to know more about this! Do you have any link to a website about this exhibition?

I ask about the exhibition from my Italian colleague. She heard about it, but cannot tell me too much things.

The trip was fine, but I became very ill again. I think I travelled with flue. So my ears are blocked again. I cannot hear well with my right ear since the Lille trip. It's more than a month!

I was working 11 hours a day, so I was totally exhausted and did not see anything from Italy, except the highways :-)

Now I'm still ill, but a bit more better.

Now I'm better. I was working on the weekend of course and will have to work on the next weekend after next week :-)

Diana, I saw on our Hungarian ESC page that the Romanian European Song Contest has selected an artist who goes to Malmo. I checked it and I was shocked happy: It's too funny :lool:

Our song contest has really talented artist, but of course people voted on ByeAlex who cannot really sing, he's a weird guy and has no chance to be in the finals.

Yesterday rain and +10'C were forecasted. In stead we got 15 cm of new snow, and only then it really started to rain. For several months my Sempervivum collection is covered with snow and I have no idea in what condition they are. They stand snow much better than winter rain, but prolonged snowcover is rare at the very exposed rocks where they grow in nature. So I am getting a bit worried by now ...

Gabi, what a beautiful view! Crocuses mean spring! What are those green lines?

How is the where over you?
We had several days of 15 by Celsius, and now winter is coming back for several days.

Diana, can you imagine - now everything is covered under snow again and a cold East wind is blowing - minus degrees :(

the green lines are the first sprouts of corn salad (valeriana locusta) and Barbara cresse (barbarea praecox) ... first green for my salad :P
