This is great!

Papanash is a traditional Romanian desert. Papanashi are Cottage Cheese Doughnuts served with cream and jam.
I am almost sure, all nationalities have something like this in their countries.
Here are some pictures:

Mila, I am happy I was useful. :)

Here are some recipes (I've got them from internet):

Mila, show us some pictures when you will decide to prepare Papanash. :)

http://travel.prwave.ro/papanasi-a-spec ... dumplings/

http://romanian-cuisine.blogspot.ro/201 ... d-jam.html

-500g of Cottage Cheese
-2 Eggs
-Lemon Zest from 1 Lemon
-100g of Raisins ( Sultana are the best for this recipe )
-1/2 Teaspoon of Sodium Bicarbonate
-1/4 Teaspoon of Salt
-2-3 Teaspoons of Vanilla Sugar ( Simply take a Vanilla Stick cut in in half and put it in a jar of sugar for a few days )
-300g of Flour ( 200g for the dumplings and 100 for the modelling itself)
-Sunflower Oil ( Enough for deep frying )
-Sour cherry Jam
-Cream

They have a lot in common with Russian 'Sirniki' :) Сырники из творога
